Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. You have the capacity to change and heal by forming a trusting relationship with your therapist. Reflecting on feelings is key. There is a saying in therapy, “if we can feel it, we can heal it.” Exploring feelings that may have fueled irrational beliefs, feelings, and behaviors in the past is important in achieving healing in therapy. Trusting your therapist and the therapeutic process can result in feeling understood and supported. Once this is achieved, healing can occur.
