About
Kimberly Tyler-Brown, M.S., LMFT
I know that it can be hard sometimes to ask for help. Are you feeling the pressure to be everything to everyone, and no one is there when you need them? Do you have feelings of not being enough, and hearing that inner critic remind you of your past? Are you tired of giving so much to everyone else and resentful that you are not receiving anything back? Are you feeling unappreciated, underestimated, unworthy, or unbalanced? Taking the first steps on the road to healing can be scary, I am here to support, encourage & empower you.
My practice specializes in helping to release the stigma of mental health in people of color by treating individuals, couples and families. By reviving your insight of how mental health and emotional wellness is a lifestyle as well as helping to restore your mental wellness because it is within your reach. I’m confident that we can work together to uncover the root cause of your struggles and address those issues with long-lasting strategies, helping you get closer to the life you’ve always wanted.
I make it easy to fit therapy into your busy life. We can meet at my office, virtually or engage in eco-therapy (connecting with nature). I will meet you where you are while providing a safe space for you to be comfortable and feel heard.
I am an African American female who is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and Texas and a Doctoral Student. I have a physical office in the city of Long Beach, California and provide virtual therapy in Texas. My approach is a fusion of a variety of modalities including Somatic Bodywork, EMDR, Brainspotting, Gottman (Couples), IFS, Narrative therapy and CBT. All services offer trauma-responsive, people of color healing spaces. I have over 15 years of experience working with children, teens, couples, adults and families. I work with those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss and many other challenges. As well as those who need extra support in facing their daily lives or life transitions.
